Finally caught up on the final season of Being Erica last night. I liked it. Admittedly, there were things about the season I wish had played out differently, but I think things worked out exactly as they should (or could) have in the end. One thing I do know for sure though is that I'm going to miss this show!

Also watched the first ep of Being Human S4, which I enjoyed more than I thought I would. It's no longer the show I fell in love with, but I still like it enough to continue watching - and am intrigued to see where they take it from here. I also have to admit to having a little bit of a soft spot for Tom (played by Michael Socha), which I have a feeling is partly due to how much he looks like his sister (who plays Kelly in Misfits). I also love the fact that even though the show has gone to some very dark places, it still retains its sense of humour. I thought there were some wonderful laugh out loud moments in this first episode. :)

Now that was the Torchwood I know and love.

What can I say? I loved every single second of it!

Well, I've seen ep1 of the new season of Torchwood...and I have to say I loved it! I thought it was a very promising start to the new era of the show.

Can't wait to see where they take it from here!

I'll post a more detailed review tomorrow. :)

Just thought I'd pop in to say hi. Not been around much, but also haven't really had much to say either.

While I'm here I'll talk a little bit about TV. :)

I watched and loved Game of Thrones. I can't believe we have to wait until next year for S2 to air! I'm going to read the first book to help make the wait more bearable, but won't be reading any more until after S2 airs. This show is just too good to watch spoiled!

I've watched and enjoyed the first two eps of True Blood S4. I've seen mixed reviews of the show here on LJ, but I'm still loving it so far. I tend to go into TB without any expectations at all and just enjoy the show for what it is - rollicking good fun! It definitely isn't a show to be taken seriously, but that's the kind of TV I need to see from time to time - and I make no apologies for that. It's cracktastically delicious and I love it! It also has an extremely pretty cast which doesn't hurt. *g*

I've also been enjoying the second season of the BBC drama Luther. I still have last night's final ep to watch, but I think this season has been even better than the first. It's violent and disturbing on so many levels (my mum refused to watch any more after last week's ep), but also highly compelling TV. Love it!

I also loved another BBC drama series Case Histories, which starred the wonderful (and sexy) Jason Isaacs as private detective Jackson Brodie. I've read and enjoyed the books (by Kate Atkinson) that the show is based on, and I think JI played Jackson to perfection. He was exactly as I imagined him...and yes, okay, I admit to having a huge crush on Jackson Brodie - which has now increased ten-fold after seeing him being played by Jason Isaacs. *melts at the thought*

I've also been rewatching ER and Six Feet Under from the very beginning on Sky Atlantic, and enjoying them both immensely. I'd forgotten just how much I loved these shows when they first aired - especially the earlier seasons of ER. They're so good!

And last but not least I've been watching Big Love and Battlestar Galactica (also on Sky Atlantic), which I've never seen before. To be honest, I didn't think I was going to like a show about polygamy, so I've been pleasantly surprised by just how much I'm enjoying Big Love.I'm about midway through S2 at the moment and am loving it!

As for BSG, I'd seen the mini-series and the first few eps of S1 when they first aired, but had given up on it after that. I know a lot of people on LJ who loved the show, so when it started airing from the beginning on Sky Atlantic (are you sensing a pattern here? *g*) I decided to give it another go - and I'm so glad I did! I'm up to ep5 of S3 and can't wait to see what happens next. Excellent stuff!

Honorary mention must go to Fringe which I finished watching last week. Roll on S4!

And that's just about it. :)

*looks up* I know it must seem like all I do is watch TV, but I only watch these shows on a weekly basis (other than ER which airs every day), so it's mostly just an hour or two every evening while my husband's at work (a bit more at weekends when I catch up on the shows I watch with him). Honestly. ;)

I was a bit meh about part one of this story, but this week?

I loved it!

Is it next Saturday yet?

:D

I rewatched The Doctor's Wife and loved it even more the second time. I also watched Doctor Who Confidential, and there is only one word I can use to describe it - magical. *happy sigh*

In fact, I think it may have made me fall in love with Neil Gaiman just a little bit. Hearing him read from the script was pure perfection, and it made me love the episode even more than I already did - which I didn't think could even be possible!

Fantastic stuff, and possibly my favourite episode of New Who so far.

I will most definitely be watching both the episode and the Confidential over and over again. Pure magic! :)

Wow, that was some episode of Doctor Who, wasn't it? I was worried it wouldn't be able to live up to the hype, but I should have known Neil Gaiman wouldn't let me down! I watched it late last night while under the influence of a few glasses of wine (I'd been to my brother-in-law's 40th birthday party), so will need to rewatch it later to make sure I didn't miss anything important, but first impressions? Fabulous!

I'm still all *flaily* about Matt Smith, because I thought he was even more outstanding in this episode. He really *is* the Doctor, isn't he? He impresses me more and more every week. :)

Roll on next Saturday!

Not got much time, but I just wanted to drop by and say how much I'm enjoying Game of Thrones so far. I'm already developing firm opinions on certain characters, and have one stand out favourite character already - who has stolen every scene he's been in so far!

Excellent stuff! :)

This week's Vampire Diaries made me cry.

I love my shiny new show!

On a more serious note, I watched Stephen Fry's Who Do You Think You Are episode from a few years ago this afternoon. It was incredibly moving. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but let's just say that if things had turned out differently, there very likely wouldn't have been a Stephen Fry at all. Highly recommended viewing.
